Farris Timimi, MD
Farris Timimi, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and a Consultant in Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. He serves as Medical Director for the Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media. He also serves as the Cardiology Physician Education Coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency and as the Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program. In addition, Dr. Timimi is the physician lead for the Division of Cardiovascular Disease One Voice initiative, as well as the institutional lead for patient-family advisory councils.
Dr. Timimi received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from East Tennessee State University. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; his fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School; and a separate fellowship in Interventional Vascular Radiology, Vascular Medicine, and Vascular Ultrasound at Mayo Clinic.
